Google Ads: Content Suitability Changes for Parked Domains

According to a recent email to advertisers, Google Ads is making changes to how content is matched for parked domains. Learn more about what this means and what parked domains are in Google Ads.

Changes to Parked Domains

Starting in October, new Google Ads accounts will be automatically opted out of showing ads on parked domains. This means that your search and Performance Max campaigns on new accounts will not appear on parked domains by default.

If you want your ads to appear on parked domains, simply go to your content matching settings in your new account and select the appropriate option.

What are parked domains in Google Ads?

A parked domain is a registered internet address that doesn't have a fully developed website yet. These pages usually have little or no content, as they might still be under development or waiting for a new owner. Parked domains can serve various purposes, such as reserving a domain name for future use or displaying any content on a page that would otherwise be empty due to an expired registration.

Google Ads policies prohibit ads leading to parked domains. When? When these domains contain only links and ad-like search results and do not provide users with any quality content on the landing page domain.
